Episode 9 – Migration Methodology, Sonus & Nectar with UCMP and Advanced Voice Tips & Tricks

Continuing on the theme of Enterprise Voice we look at the Migration Methodology. This is the process of migrating users from the legacy world into the Skype for Business ecosystem properly and ensuring that you have catered for all scenarios to leave you in confidence that your project will be a success!
In session two we are joined by Umar Kabir from Sonus Networks and Russell Wiant from Nectar Corp who deliver a joint presentation on their collaborative efforts with UCMP. Umar and Russell discuss the benefits of the new Sonus Edge 6.0 software and Nectar’s UCD to provide a complete reporting and monitoring system for your SBCs and network at the larger scale. In Session three we have Ken Lasko (MVP) from Event Zero giving us tips and tricks with enterprise voice that will leave your users with a smile on their face!
Umar Kabir – Product Manager, Sonus Networks
Umar is the product manager for Sonus SBC Edge products such as the SBC 1000 & the SBC 2000. Umar began his career as a developer with a major telecommunications manufacturing ᴀ밄rm; he later assumed roles in sales, marketing, and product management. Umar is based in Ottawa, Canada.
Russell Wiant – VP of Product, Nectar Services Corp
Russell Wiant is Director of Product Management at Nectar Services Corp. where he drives product strategy and execution for Nectar’s uniᴀ밄ed communications software portfolio. Prior to joining Nectar, Russell managed pre- and post-sales customer support for Softwaredeᴀ밄ned Networking innovator, Netsocket. He has also served in engineering roles where he was responsible for the design, development, and support of software products at AlcatelLucent, Chiaro Networks and BrightLink Networks. Russell holds dual Bachelor’s degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Texas Tech University and a Master of Science in Systems Engineering from Southern Methodist University.
Ken Lasko – VP, Event Zero
Starting his career at Microsoft Canada as an OS technical support technician back in the MS-DOS days, Ken’s ever-evolving experience in Information Technology has brought him to Event Zero as an Enterprise Voice Specialist. Ken helps ensure the quality of Event Zero’s UC Commander Lync/SfB analytics and reporting software is consistently great. He blogs sporadically about Skype for Business and other MS UC solutions at http://ucken.blogspot.com, and is the creator of the popular Enterprise Voice configuration tool, the Lync Dialing Rule Optimizer (http://lyncoptimizer.com). This tool automates the creation of Enterprise Voice dial plans, routes and policies for every country in the world. His technical skills and strong work ethic enable Ken to ensure that projects are always completed on-time. Not only is Ken technically adept, he has an outgoing, friendly personality that makes working with him a pleasant experience.
